With love from The Hague
The House of Mr Who (THMW) is an independent publishing house based in The Hague, the Netherlands. It grew out of the artistic research centre Ekeby Art and Research and its trans-disciplinary creative practices.
THMW publishes literature that moves between languages, memories, identities and possible futures. Our books return to what has been forgotten, silenced or suppressed — in families, bodies, archives and places. We tell stories about vulnerability, transformation, queer perspectives and forgotten dreams.
THMW publishes books in Dutch, English, and German. For us, it is essential to jump between perspectives — across languages, communities and ways of seeing.
THMW develops new forms of storytelling. Our stories move beyond the boundaries of the printed book. They unfold through hybrid formats, performances, films, workshops, digital campaigns and temporary book spaces.
THMW gives space to stories that have not yet been heard. Where vulnerability becomes knowledge. Where feeling becomes a way of understanding the world differently.
